Lower-Division College Grade Requirements

Grades are obviously an important factor in your admission as a lower-division transfer. It is important to note that there are different ways grades are used in the admission process.

Your overall grade point average must be at least 2.0. This GPA is calculated with all of your transfer units attempted.

If you complete any general education work, you should earn grades of C or better. This is especially important for general education courses in the English language and mathematics sections of general education, which some campuses require for admission as a lower-division transfer.

Remember, these are minimums and in the case of high-demand majors and campuses, a 2.0 GPA may not be high enough.
